Dear Sabine
I first saw you in Caudry, walking through lace-lined streets where the hum of the looms sang. The sunlight caught the edges of your hair, and you were in love then, though perhaps you did not yet know it.
He worked at the dye house by the river, a boy with ink-stained fingers and eyes the colour of deep earth. Each morning, your paths crossed. No words were spoken, yet the air between you stirred with something unspoken. One afternoon, he stopped beside you and offered a single peony, which you pressed between the pages of your book, carrying that moment with you for years. Then, one spring afternoon, he returned. His hair touched with silver, yet his hands still carried the colour of craft.
The Sabine Dress was born from that love. Made from lace and layers of hand pleated tulle, her silhouette drips softly. The lace, sourced from the ateliers of Caudry, holds within it a century of artistry, a heritage of hands that believed beauty itself was an act of faith.
Bodice lace applique flower heads are highlighted with tiny pearl beads, each a heartbeat of memory. Around the cinched waist, a mantilla lace veil woven on a Leavers loom is tied - adorned with a delicate beaded bird, a quiet symbol of him, reminding that love, once known, never truly flies away. The gown is worn with a 3D peony organza bloom veil that can also be worn as a cape, a gesture to that first flower he gave you.
To wear Sabine is to remember that love always returns - sometimes older, and gentler. A story of two souls who found each other twice.
