Story
Jo, soul searcher and storyteller, is the creative mind behind Julita. Born and raised in North London, Jo began designing and sewing as a young girl whilst watching mother Ekaterini working as a seamstress. Julita is named after her Godmother who ran her atelier for over 30 years.
Since graduating with a Masters Degree from the world-renowned Royal College of Art, Jo pursued a successful career as a fashion designer and artist, before connecting with the deeply emotive design of bridal wear.
During her extensive fashion career Jo travelled the world and her heart was captured exploring the work and craftsmanship of artisans. In 2014 she connected with her soul work and founded her bridal label. The pieces are influenced by her mixed European heritage and combine modernity with ethereal romance to create unstructured silhouettes with couture intricate details. Her collections are inspired by the natural world, art and poetry. Diaphanous movement and signature delicate hand embellishment thread together the essence that Jo is known for.
Made of premium quality fabrics, Jo designs each one-off heirloom piece which is then hand crafted through a journey of reflection and exploration. Jo creates from her home studio, offering an intimate experience taking clients on a meaningful journey to design otherworldly pieces. Each and every piece is handmade in London, to order, one dress at a time.
Her capsule collections have been admired worldwide and in 2021 Julita was awarded Most Inspiring Wedding Fashion by Junebug Weddings. Jo's creations have been worn by fashion insiders, commissioned by Interview Magazine to be worn by global star Rihanna and seen on celebrities at prestigious red carpet events including the Brit Awards and The Pride of Britain.
