About Me...

Hello! I'm Jo Kuniewicz-Murray, a fashion designer born and based in London.

I was introduced to fashion at an early age by my creative mother and began my formal creative education at Bath Spa University. I was then chosen to study for a Master's degree at the world-renowned Royal College of Art.

I've since continued to develop my skills studying creative pattern cutting at the London College of Fashion and fashion forecasting at Central Saint Martins. With an eye for detail I've enhanced my embellishment technique at The London Embroidery Studio.

After graduating in 2004 I worked as a senior designer and creative consultant, heading up teams as design director at London based studios. This instilled my love of haute couture with an instinctively feminine handwriting and contemporary approach to design and styling.

In 2010 I met a boy, fell in love and we got engaged - my dress search began but I struggled to find 'the dress' for my wedding. Disheartened I sat in a cafe sketching my dream dress, with a matching veil, onto the back of a napkin and my bespoke bridal journey began.

The process and freedom of design fascinated me and I wanted to continue so in 2013 Julita LDN Bride was founded. The company was named in memory of my aunt Julita who owned her own atelier in native Poland. She sadly passed away shortly after I got married and she continues to inspire me.

I have since continued to design unique and fully bespoke modern gowns, veils and accessories with a distinctive signature.  Specialising in a fresh approach to bridal design with simple feminine, embellished styles with flowing silhouettes. Gowns are soft, unstructured and contemporary.  Backs are unique – open or low – adding intrigue to what might otherwise be an understated design from the front. Trains are exaggerated, long and sweeping. Embellishment is beautifully detailed using re-worked lace, embroideries and beaded florals, with a nod to ethereal and vintage sensibilities.

The bespoke designs reflect timeless elegance and personality, drawing on everything as individual as each bride-to-be, that equally exists outside of the current trends and tradition. Design is innovative, with the focus on layering, textures, exceptional quality, construction and fit.

My belief is that a dress is never one dimensional, with all eyes on the bride – it must be beautiful at every angle, and made by hand and heart.

Julita LDN Bride is for the ethereal spirited soul - brides inspired by romance, moonlight and magic.
